ボリショイサーカス。
日本人にはサーカスの代名詞に使われるほどなじみの深いサーカス団です。1958年の初来日以来、40年以上にわたる全国規模の公演が行われ、時代、世代を超えた支持を受けています。このボリショイサーカスの「ボリショイ」は英語ではGreat,Bigにあたるロシア語で、日本語では「偉大な」「大きな」。ボリショイサーカスとは偉大なサーカスという意味になります。
ボリショイサーカス団は、ロシアでの名称はロシア連邦サーカス公団。ロシア連邦文化省に所属する組織で、旧ソビエト連邦サーカス公団を改称して発足した国立の機関です。このロシア国立サーカスは、現在世界各国で公演を行っており、日本では「ボリショイサーカス」と呼ばれ親しまれています。
ロシア連邦サーカス公団は、約8000人ものアーティストとスタッフ、6600頭を超える動物、約100ヶ所の常設・仮設劇場をもつ、世界最大のサーカス組織でもあります。また、3ヶ所ある国立のサーカス学校からは毎年新しいスター・アーティストが続々と誕生しています。
ロシア連邦全土から集まった優れた人材を鍛えあげたアーティスト集団であるこのサーカス団は、ロシアの誇りであり、またいつの時代でも最新、最高レベルの演技を見せてくれる世界の頂点に立つサーカスです。 |
The BOLSHOI CIRCUS─
the name is well known to the Japanese. The circus, which first came to Japan in 1958 has performed all over Japan for over forty years and is supported by young and old. The word "Bolshoi" means "Great" or "Big" in English, so BOLSHOI CIRCUS means "Great Circus" The BOLSHOI CIRCUS, established seventy-eight years ago as the Soviet National Circus, is now called the Russian National Circus in Russia, and is overseen by of the Ministry of Culture. This national circus is now performing all over the world. It is known as the BOLSHOI CIRCUS in Japan and is welcomed with affection. The Russian National Circus consists of 8,000 artists and staff, more than 6,600 animals, and about 100 temporary and permanent theaters. It is literally the greatest circus in the world.Three National Circus Schools produce many new starts every year. The Russians are very proud of the circus, which recruits its talented and trained members from all over Russia. It is the world's top circus troupe and it brings us the best and newest performances. |
